    Project Details

    Project Description

The project seeks to understand the potential impact of demand-side measures, including energy efficiency and electrification, on energy consumption and emissions reduction. EEC is seeking an evidence base for federal policymakers to include demand-side measures in the sectoral decarbonisation plans for achieving Australia’s 2035 emissions reduction target and its contribution to the global energy intensity improvement target. EEC also seeks to inform federal and state level policy on gas substitution. Climateworks is supporting the project by providing the necessary data using the AusTIMES model.
