Project Description

This project aims to provide a consensus statement on specific prescribing competencies to be taught and assessed within the scope and context of podiatry courses in Australia. The Prescribing Competencies Framework (NPS, 2021) describes in detail the standard competencies that health professionals must
demonstrate to prescribe medicines safely and effectively, however work has not yet been undertaken to contextualise this framework and describe how it is achieved within the Podiatry scope of practice. Establishing professional consensus will provide essential guidance for course teams working towards embedding Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines in course and curriculum design within Podiatry programs across Australia.
