Project Description
The World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines is looking for an institutional or individual contractual partner to conduct research on healthcare-associated infection (HAI) rates in Philippine hospitals under a Technical Services Agreement (TSA) contract.
The research aims to establish baseline HAI rates in sampled levels 1-3 hospitals in the Philippines as part of strengthening HAI surveillance in the country. The specific objectives are to:
1. Set a definition for HAI that all health facilities shall use;
2. Determine the HAI rates of sampled hospitals across different levels using the set definition above;
3. Generate trends and associations based on the determined HAI rates; and
4. Propose hospital-wide and health system-wide recommendations to address the burden of HAI using the evidence from this study.
