Project Details
Project Description
Anatomical connections between brain cells create a complex network, which allows the fast interchange of
information through electrical pulses. This collaboration between world leaders in brain anatomy and
neuroinformatics will produce the first comprehensive digital map of the connections in a primate brain, and
will use advanced statistical 'data mining' techniques to explore the network characteristics of this system.
This will allow new insights on how the brain works as an integrated system, and will help us to understand
how information processing in the brain changes as result of diseases and normal ageing.
