Project Description

In this study we will develop and evaluate two novel communication skills training (CST) interventions targeting the unmet communication needs of oncology health professionals (HPs) who work with patients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. The interventions will include and interactive online CST intervention, and a 1 and 1/2 hour CST workplace based workshop designed to be delivered by local facilitators. The feasibility of the two interventions will be evaluated in a Phase II randomised trial. The study will provide the evidence for the integration of these novel CST interventions into training programs for oncology HPs and medical students.
