Project Details
Project Description
This project will work with the Australian Conservation Foundation to produce 3 mini reports examining the impact that climate change is having on Cricket, Tennis and Cycling played in the Australian Summer. With a focus on the Australian Open, the Summer tests and the Tour Down Under, the reports will examine the impact that extreme heat is currently having on the health of players and use climate models to project how much worse this could get. Based on this research, the reports will assess how viable the current timing of each of these events will be in the future. They will also examine the actions that the national governing bodies of each sport are taking to mitigate and adapt to a more intense playing climate from the professional leagues down to local leagues.
