Project Details

Project Description

We aim to characterize the cognitive, behavioural and educational consequences of fetal antiepileptic drug exposure. As the largest prospective study in this area, it will comprehensively account for other key variables influencing cognitive and behavioural outcome. The research outcomes will have major implications for the creation of prevention, developmental surveillance and educational strategies. The project will keep Australia at the forefront of research in this area by bringing to the established research framework of the Australian Pregnancy Register, expertise in cognitive neuroscience and developmental psychology.
