Project Description

We propose an investigation into the complex relationships among carbon pricing, productivity growth, technical change and efficiency in Australia. A range of econometric models will be used to quantify the effects of carbon pricing on the productivity growth of Australian industries. Related policy issues regarding the relative efficiency from the introduction of carbon pricing will also be analysed. An econometric model will be built to identify the channels through which environmental regulations affect the productivity growth of Australian industries. These models will provide powerful tools for investigating the effects of the introduction of carbon pricing on Australian industries.
