Project Details

Project Description

The global population is ageing rapidly, and one significant challenge for Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) is how best to balance residents’ safety with choice, a principle known as Dignity of Risk (DoR). Research on DoR in RACS is scarce. In other settings, research has shown that when DoR principles are
applied, health outcomes, social interaction, mental health, and quality of life are improved. This work will identify the barriers and enablers to the implementation of DoR in the RACS setting, and will inform further research to improve health outcomes for this vulnerable population.
