Project Description

This project will invite four Korean women collaborators from academic and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to Australia as part of a larger partnership project seeking to build a foundation of exchange and collaboration between Korea and Australia through the development of a collaborative research network. South Korean delegation involved in this project will include those who have previously completed their research degrees in Australia.

The project objectives are to:
foster long-standing partnership in evidence building in the areas of gender equality research, education and practices;
promote mutual understanding of Australian and Korean policy development to evidence strategies and policies;
Enhance people-to-people links and deepen cooperation on human rights and violence against women and girls according to number 24 of the Australia-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by Prime Minister Morrison and President Moon;
re-connect with Australian alumni (Humanities and Social Sciences) in South Korea.
Through activities during the South Korean delegation’s visit to Australia (e.g. a knowledge exchange event, visits to UN Women and Harmony Alliance), we expect to create evidence based outcomes of the people-to-people links to deepen the Australia-Korea’s joint response to gender in/equality.
