Project Description

In an Australia-first program, linguists will mentor Indigenous people, whose languages are ‘sleeping’, to locate relevant materials (from scrawled 19th century wordlists to full grammar) in the vast AIATSIS archive. They will then work together to translate these materials into resources that can support language regeneration in their communities.
