Project Description
Monash University: Interdisciplinary Research Support Program:
The past decade has seen AI and data-driven technologies become an emerging feature of Australian society. However, the growing use of these technologies remains a hotly contested topic. This research project aims to produce one of the first comprehensive pictures of Australian public understandings and attitudes relating to AI and data-driven society.
Based on a nationally-representative public opinion survey of 2000 Australian adults, the project will provide a robust empirical basis from which to identify and explore prominent areas of public optimism, concern and/or mis-understanding over the societal application of AI and data-driven technologies.
