    Project Description

ARC Linkage Grant - LP160100094. The project aims to provide a comprehensive examination of what attracts or deters potential, future and practising teachers of the sciences and mathematics. With the Department of Education and Training, we focus on school and university students, and current teachers to identify how individual and contextual factors shape decisions to move into or away from science and mathematics teaching in a climate of critical teacher shortages. We investigate key points along the science and mathematics teacher supply pipeline to identify where to intervene, and the likely effective policy levers to attract and sustain quality teachers, in Queensland, a geographically vast state encompassing metropolitan, regional and remote schools and universities.
