Project Description
Providing reliable projections of climate change and its effect on water resources is one of the greatest scientific and societal challenges today. In this research innovative evaluation techniques will be developed and applied to assess the simulations of clouds and rainfall in Australia's community climate model. This will provide one of the first comprehensive and independent model assessments with the aim to inform decision makers on the reliability of future climate projections for water resources. Equally importantly the research will identify the causes for model shortcomings and thereby provide input into prioritizing future model development.
