The project will involve the utilization of a full time research assistant (RA) working in the laboratory of Dr Rico Tabor of the School of Chemistry at Monash University. Waterwerx shall provide a range of samples for testing from a range of manufacturers. Working with input from both Waterwerx and Dr Tabor, the RA shall run a range of analyses on the water samples, developing a database of key metrics on the range of samples. The RA shall also investigate how the samples respond to selected, commercially available treatment regimes. Typical testing will involve measuring the total chemical and biological oxygen demands (as per current best industry practice, utilising the ISO testing protocols), dispersed and dissolved solids content, particle size distribution, conductivity, pH and settleability. It is estimated that 5 – 10 water samples shall be analysed per week covering 1 – 2 industrial sites.
