The remake of the sunsetting Marine Safety Regulations 2012 involves a comprehensive examination of the efficiency and effectiveness of recreational boating laws as part of the overall marine safety regulatory framework.
DoT is seeking responses to this Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the delivery of a study to establish the nature, incidence and trends of marine transport-related death and injuries to patients presenting to Victorian hospitals.
The purpose of this study is to improve DoT’s understanding of the safety, financial and other consequences of incidents and deaths related to recreational boating. The study is focussed on deaths and those incidents which result in presentation to Victorian hospitals.
