Project Description
This proposal was prepared by the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) in response to
Transurban’s request to assess the crash-related safety performance of Transurban assets in Victoria, New
South Wales and Queensland. This includes an analysis of the characteristics of crashes and the demographic
characteristics of the driver involved and their vehicles. The principal analysis of interest is the safety
performance of Transurban assets relative to ‘Like’ (i.e., comparable) roads
