Project Description
This pilot project is part of a collaborative international project that focusses on extending understanding of young children’s conceptual knowledge of geometrical solids (cuboids and cubes). The aim of our study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a German designed, one-to-one task based interview in an Australian education context. The significance of this study for education as a discipline will be to provide teachers with a tool suitable for assessing Year 3 and 4 students’ knowledge of geometric reasoning. Data will be used to provide a comparison of Australian and German student geometric reasoning.
