    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Project Description

This project will examine the status of school history in Australia and Canada in the context of differences that may exist between stated and enacted curriculum. Simultaneously, it will also examine the nature of any relationship that exists in each nation between recent public and professional discussion regarding the nature of historical scholarship on the one hand and history education on the other. Australia will be the initial and principal site of research. Canada will be the comparative research site. The project will fill a major gap in history education research, both within Australia and internationally, through a systematic and realistic appraisal of curriculum practice.
