Fiona Barker nominated by Karin Leder (Planetary Health)
Fiona is the Deputy Assessment Leader and Data Manager for the large Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE) program. Fi works tirelessly across personnel in multiple countries - which includes answering emails from people in multiple time zones such that she is often working very early and very late hours. She preempts potential logistic issues in advance, smooths over personnel issues if they arise, takes on additional responsibilities that fall well outside her core duties, is always approachable and collaborative, and is consistently and unwaveringly conscious of equity and fairness. She is paving a way forward with very complex data sharing issues that will be a leading exemplar across the University. She is a supportive and attentive supervisor of junior staff and students. She is superbly suitable for this recognition.
