The project aims to deliver qualitative as well as small-scale quantitative data (2 x 20 questionnaires, 8-10 individual interviews) on the effect of the school-wide implementation of language-sensitive subject teaching at German School Melbourne (DSM). DSM is transitioning from an immersive language teaching and learning approach to language-sensitive subject teaching and learning. This study will provide the first methodically collected and measurable data on this transition at a German international school (German school abroad), positioning the project as a global pilot initiative. German School Melbourne can use the results to communicate progress to parents, refine the implementation process, support further professional development of teaching staff, and report to the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad under the German Foreign Ministry.
