Rapid aging is a critical megatrend facing Malaysia, yet it lacks a comprehensive aged care framework that sets out how the aged care system can meet the diverse needs of all older Malaysians. The project aims to examine collaborative efforts between the government, private and public aged care centres, and care recipients (residents) and their informal caregivers. It will identify key challenges, conduct a needs-based analysis, and propose solutions for inclusive aged care. Through our collaboration with multiple government agencies, the findings and proposed solutions will be disseminated extensively to inform initiatives for an aged care framework in Malaysia.
