Launched in 2011, the China Information best article prize seeks to promote high-quality scholarship in China studies. The prize is renamed the Eduard B. Vermeer Prize for the best article, in honour of the late Prof. Eduard Vermeer. The prize is judged by a panel consisting of China Information board members, and awarded to the most outstanding article published in each volume year. Winners receive a year's free subscription to the journal, a prize of £100 cash or £150 worth of SAGE books of their choice, and a certificate presented by the editor.
