The Celia Brackenridge International Research Award aims to recognise and promote excellence in scholarship on child welfare in sport and/or women and sport. The award is part of the continued legacy of Professor Brackenridge’s research and activism on these two themes. The award is for early career researchers and was award to Lucen Liu for her article - co-authored with Richard Pringle – 'Mid-life Chinese women’s understandings of sporting pain and injury: A non-Western cultural analysis via the Confucian concept of ‘ren". Published in the International Review for the Sociology of Sport Journal (2021), 56(3), 361-381.
