Personal profile

Biography

I completed my PhD with Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman at the University of Cambridge in 2013. After a short post-doc in the same lab, I started my post-doc with Prof. Mary Herbert at Newcastle University (UK) in 2015. Since then, I have been involved in developing and fine-tuning mitochondrial donation techniques in eggs to prevent transmission of mitochondrial disease to the newborn. My primary focus has been on fine-tuning the technology, which has branched out to several exciting projects.

My areas of research include:
-developing and fine-tuning mitochondrial donation techniques in eggs
-embryonic development (from zygote to blastocyst stage)
-Mitochondrial biology in oocytes and embryos
-Meiosis I and Meiosis II

In 2023, I moved to Monash University with Prof. Mary Herbert.
