Biography

Dr Yared Belay is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Health Economics Group within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. He holds a PhD in Health Economics from Monash University (2025), an MSc in Pharmacoepidemiology and Social Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University (2020), and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Gondar (2014). His research interests include model-based and trial-based economic evaluations and health outcomes research, particularly the measurement of quality of life. He is currently contributing to the Public Health Genomics program with Professor Paul Lacaze, focusing on the economic evaluation of population genomic screening, while also working on projects assessing the cost-effectiveness of mental health interventions within the Health Economics Group.
