Biography

Dr Xin Ma is an Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the Department of Management at Monash University, Australia. Before joining Monash University in July 2018, he was Lecturer of Engineering Management (Education & Research) in College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences at University of Exeter, United Kingdom, from Feb. 2017 to Jan. 2018.

Dr. Ma received his master degree in Industrial Logistics Systems and Ph.D. degree in Operations Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013 and 2017, respectively. He awarded two industry-led collaborative research grants, e.g., Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) Grant, received the 2021 Dean's Awards for Excellence in Research by an Early Career Researcher at the Monash Business School, received the 2018 Most Significant Contribution Award from the Decision Sciences Journal.

His peer-reviewed work appears in flagship journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Decision Sciences Journal, European Journal of Operational Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Transportation Research Part E, and other premier academic journals. He serves as the Department Editor of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and the Associate Editor of the Decision Sciences Journal. He is also on the Editorial Review Boards of major discipline journals, e.g., Transportation Research Part E. In addition, he serves as the ad hoc reviewer for Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Decision Sciences Journal, etc.

He was the co-chair for Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) Operations, Supply Chain, and Services Management Symposium in 2021 and 2022, the track chair for the 1st Australian Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, the review panel for Operations Management: Processes and Supply Chains (13th edition) Pearson.
