Biography

Xiao's research intersects political geography, economic geography and environmental geography. Informed by extensive fieldwork in Africa and China, her scholarly attention has mainly been paid to critical hydropolitics, green transition, and agrarian change. She has conducted prelimenary research on energy transition in Indonesia. She has published in top journals in Human Geography, Environmental Studies, Political Science, and related fields. Xiao is an Editorial Board member of Political Geography, International Journal of Water Resources Development, and Humanities & Social Sciences Communications.
