Biography
Xiao’s research lies at the intersection of political, economic, and environmental geography. Drawing on extensive fieldwork in Asia and Africa, her scholarship has centred on critical hydropolitics, green transitions, and agrarian change. Her recent research and teaching engage closely with environmental governance and sustainability transitions amid the current conjuncture of economic, (geo)political, and climate crises, particularly the emerging assemblages of renewable energy and electric vehicle industries that link Australia, Indonesia, and China.
