Dr Weng recieved his PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2016. From 2017 to 2021 He was a research scientist (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow) at EPFL working on the development and application of integrated photonics and microcomb technology. From 2021 to 2025 with an ARC DECRA Fellowship he worked on novel sensing and laser technologies based on microresonators at the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) at the University of Adelaide. He joined the Department of of ECSE at the Monash University in 2026.
