Biography

Dr Lim Wei Meng is a Malaysian registered pharmacist, currently a lecturer in School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. In 2008, he graduated with Master of Pharmacy from University of Strathclyde. Later, he worked as a pharmacist at Sarawak General Hospital for 2 years. Having a strong passion in teaching and research, he decided to join the academia. He joined International Medical University from year 2010 to 2022, and Monash University Malaysia in april 2022. He received Master of Science in Medical and Health Science in year 2014, and PhD in Medical and Health Sciences in year 2019. He involved extensively in cancer research, mainly focus on functional genomic and drug discovery.

Research interests

Drug Discovery

Dr Lim work involves the in vitro screening of new compounds using cancer cell lines to evaluate the potency and selectivity of the compounds. The compounds of interest will be investigated to understand the mechanism of action and pathways involved in the regulation of cancer cell survival.

Cancer biology and therapeutics

Dr Lim primary focus is to identify potential therapeutic target for endometrial cancer and pancreatic cancer. The research activities include high-throuput screening, drug repuposing, drug combination studies and immuno-oncology.
