Biography
Drawing on over 20 years of trading in commercial foreign exchange markets, I deliver an industry facing, immersive learning experience for our students. Academic theory is applied to practical scenarios resulting in students understanding connections between theoretical concepts in a commercial environment, thereby assisting student employability.
I encourage students to achieve a deep understanding of key financial concepts by way of simulated market scenarios in a controlled environment. Students develop their understanding of dynamic markets through repeat execution of trading strategies generated by sophisticated market simulation software. My teaching methodology strongly emphasises trader discipline and market ethics.
The benefits to students include broad exposure to commercial market concepts related to commercial pricing in FX equities and bonds, scenario analysis and algorithmic trading, each aimed at the development of their decision-making skills in the face of uncertainties. Whilst my approach is quantitatively focussed, students naturally develop skills in line with their own unique problem-solving abilities, resulting in the development of the increasingly-necessary qualitative skills demanded by employers.
