Research Interests

Associate Professor Virginia Plummer has a conjoint appointment at Peninsula Health where she facilitates nursing and midwifery clinical research between the heath service and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, provides clinical leadership for staff and students and engages with other disciplines in research, teaching, professional activities and policy development.

Virginia is currently supervising local and international research honours, masters and PhD students in the areas of emergency and disaster nursing, intensive care nursing, nursing informatics, midwifery, health service evaluation and associated policy. Her hospital management experience includes directorship in public and private sectors and board membership of several health care organizations.
