Biography

Dr. Vinod Pallath, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Medical Education & Assessment at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. With over 22 years of experience in higher education, he has extensively contributed to medical education and microbiology fields.

Research Contributions and Projects:  His research primarily focuses on medical education and medical microbiology. His research focuses on Competency-based Medical Education, Faculty Development, Professionalism, Leadership and Management, Technology-Enhanced Learning, and Student Support in medical education. As a trained Medical Microbiologist, he also teaches and conducts research in bacterial virulence, focusing on survival strategies in uropathogens. He is currently supervising doctoral research projects on these topics.

Accomplishments: Dr. Pallath has been recognized with many awards, including the Best Lecturer - Pre/Para Clinical for the year 2022- 2023 and Excellence in Service awards from the University of Malaya.

Workshops and Trainings: Dr. Pallath has organized nearly 150 faculty development workshops and served as a resource person and facilitator. These sessions have been instrumental in equipping faculty members with the tools and strategies needed to foster a learner-centred environment and integrate advanced technologies into their teaching methodologies. Dr. Pallath is also a certified trainer by the Human Resources Development Corporation, Malaysia, further emphasizing his commitment to continuous professional development and capacity building within the educational sector.
