Umi Syamimi is an Assistant Lecturer with the School of IT, Monash University Malaysia. Ms Syamimi received her Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) with Honor from Universiti Malaysia Pahang in 2016 and her Master of Computer Science (Software Technology) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2018. She joined Monash University Malaysia in 2021 for her doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr Lim Chern Hong and Dr Lillian Yee Kiaw Wang. Her research focuses on integration of Face Recognition and Motion Detection in Attendance System (IoT-Based). Before joining Monash University Malaysia, she had gained experience in the industry as a System Analyst and in the field of education, working as a lecturer at Segi College Kuala Lumpur and as an IT teacher in an international school.
