Biography

Troy is equal parts designer, researcher and educator.

He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Design at Monash University. Through his research with the Design Health Collab, Troy conducts collaborative and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of design, technology and care. Outcomes of his research span the conceptual and speculative to the commercial: with projects including speculations on the future of Emergency Department waiting rooms with Cabrini Hospital, developing breakthrough wearable continuous diagnostic monitoring technology with Nutromics, developing models of care for mental health, and co-designing systems of healthcare with the World Health Organization.

Troy is deeply committed to the development of emerging leaders and the next generation of creative professionals. Troy's teaching interests include in Design Thinking and Industrial Design, as well as a suite of other training to emerging leaders and professionals across the University. Troy also brings expertise in coalescing and leading student communities with experience in various "live in" positions in the Halls of Residence at Monash University, including Deputy College Head of Richardson Hall and as College Head of South East Flats - providing unfiltered insights to the experiences of students in higher education.

Troy completed an honours degree in Industrial Design and was conferred a PhD in Design in 2021, both from Monash University.
