Biography

Associate Professor Hieu Pham is a psychogeriatrician, consultant psychiatrist and the Deputy Director of the North West Victorian Regional Training Hub at Monash Rural Health. In this role, Associate Professor Pham is part of a team working to help junior doctors live, work and train in the Loddon Mallee region through increased access to speciality medical training and professional development opportunities.  

In addition to this, Associate Professor Pham also oversees postgraduate psychiatry training at Mildura Base Public Hospital, where he successfully established a rural end-to-end psychiatry training program. He also teaches at Monash Rural Health Mildura, preparing and delivering the majority of the psychiatry syllabus for Monash medical students in the Loddon Mallee region.

Associate Professor Pham has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) from the University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and an Accredited Member of Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age.

Associate Professor Pham’s professional interests are psychogeriatrics, consultation-liaision psychiatry and rural psychiatry training. His work has been published in Australasian Psychiatry.
