Personal profile

Biography

I am a researcher working across public health, sociology of health and social psychology. I specialise in understanding how patients understand healthcare information. I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Cabrini Institute, examining public health responses to overdiagnosis and overtreatment. I am also completing a PhD at La Trobe University, examining the reasons behind Australians' vaccine-refusal beliefs.

My previous research at La trobe University focused on mental health among stigmatised populations, and I have worked in the private sector undertaking opinion survey research. I have taught into a range of courses at RMIT University's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies (GUSS) and at La Trobe University in the areas of sociology, social research methods and public health.
