Biography
Tingting Ye is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. She has multidisciplinary training in Epidemiology (PhD), Exposure Assessment, Geographic Information Science, and Remote Sensing Technology (MSc, BSc). Tingting completed her PhD in August 2024 at Monash University and holds a Master’s degree in Physical Oceanography from Zhejiang University (2019).
Throughout her PhD, she has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles since 2020, including first-author publications in top-tier journals like Lancet Planetary Health, Nature Communications, and JAMA Pediatrics (editor’s pick). Her research focuses on enhancing the accuracy of exposure assessments for air pollution, and quantifying associated health risks using epidemiological methods, geospatial techniques, health impact assessments, and machine learning algorithms.
Tingting is also passionate about quantifying the impacts of built environments factors such as urban green space, night time light, road density, etc, with a particular interest in beneficial exposures associated with greenspace. She has publications exploring various aspects of greenspace (such as quantity, proximity, and type) and their associations with different health outcomes in children (including birth outcomes and children’s lung function) across different geographical locations (Brazil, Australia, and China). Her work has been recognized with the Monash Postgraduate Publications Award.
