Research interests

  1. To study the role of the renin-angiotensin system in particular the AT1 and AT2 receptors in experimental models of diabetic nephropathy.
  2. To study the role of the renin-angiotensin system and treatment in diabetic atherosclerosis.

Our group uses various animal models to study treatments, diets and genetic manipulations to look at the effect on diabetic micro- and macrovascular disease. We also provide a core service to the rest of the department via our expertise in animal models and supplying animal technician services with various specialised techniques.
