Biography
Terry Turney is a Professorial Fellow in the Department of Materials Engineering
Terry Turney (PhD, FTSE,FRACI) holds a Professorial Fellow's position in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University. In addition, he is Chief Technical Officer of two companies, Sonic Essentials Pty Ltd, a micronutrient manufacturer for the agricultural sector, and of Micronisers Australasia Pty Ltd, a diverse nanoparticle manufacturer. He was previously Director of the Nanotechnology Centre in Australia's Government RandD Organization, CSIRO, where he worked as a scientist in various roles in materials research for over 28 years. His groups' scientific activities have resulted in over 25 patents, 100 published scientific papers and a similar number of major reports to industry, resulting in several nanostructured products entering the marketplace. His current R&D interests include polymeric nanocomposite materials, and applications of nanoparticles and nanocomposites within the manufacturing, healthcare and personal care products sectors.
