Biography
Dr Tam D. Nguyen is currently an ARC Early Career Industry Fellow at School of Chemistry, Monash University. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Engineering Physics and Nanotechnology from University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2012. He was then received the Award for Temasek Foundation Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking (TF-LEaRN) at National University of Singapore. completed his Bachelor degree (Distinction grade) in Engineering Physics and Nanotechnology at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNUH) in 2012. In 2018, he obtained his PhD degree in Materials Science from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Dr Nguyen has 4 years of productive postdoctoral experience at NTU (2018 - 2020) and Monash University (2021). From 02/2022-09/2024, he has been employed by Energys Australia P/L as a Scientist.
Dr Nguyen actively engages with industry to translate the outcomes of his innovative research to technologies of applied significance. He has been collaborating with VFlowTech Pty Ltd (Singapore) and Viettel Manufacturing Corporation (Vietnam) – companies working on advanced electrochemical energy storage technologies.
Dr Nguyen’s major research interests are in materials and technologies for renewable energy transformation and storage, including practical battery energy storage, green hydrogen production, and smart materials for energy conservation.
