Personal profile

Biography

I am an interventional cardiologist specialising in coronary intervention and heart disease in women.

As one of only 17 female interventional cardiologists in Australia and New Zealand, I am part of a national leadership group working towards gender equity in cardiology. I also mentor postgraduate researchers, graduate students and medical residents. I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Monash University, and a Supervisor of medical students at the Notre Dame University at Cabrini.

My clinical research commitments include age and gender-based issues in cardiology. I received postgraduate medical research scholarships from the Cardiac Society Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). I completed my PhD at Monash University and training at The Alfred. I received Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at The Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust, UK.
