Biography

Susie is a Registered Nurse with a background in cardiac and emergency specialties. Using this nursing experience she is passionate about educating and empowering patients and families to be able to manage care of their cardiac condition long term.

Susie completed a PhD in 2018 investigating a targeted approach to basic life support training for family members of high-risk cardiac patients. After time spent at Deakin University specilising in mobile health and Flinders University specialising in secondary prevention in regional and remote settings, Susie has returned to Monash University to undertake her Heart Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship investgiating better ways to support patients and families in the transition from hospital to outpatinet cardiac rehabilitation. 

Susie is the current President of the Victorian chapter of the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association.
