Personal profile

Biography

I am an applied microeconomist with an interest in understanding the impacts of relevant societal issues on health, wellbeing, and development, especially in developing countries.  My work so far has focused on the effects of natural disasters, weather shocks, violence, and inequality on child health, and their associated human capital development.

In a different strand of research, I also work in the political economy literature, especially in the Indian context. Specifically, I explored issues such as redistributive politics, female under-representation, and also on strategic voting by agents in Indian state elections. I look forward to contributing to the political and developmental literature on India, in the near and foreseeable future.
