Personal profile

Biography

I am a trained Biostatistician who loves working with numbers to ensure equitable provision of best-practices in medicine, public health and epidemiology. I graduated from Monash University with a PhD in Public Health/Epidemiology, which followed an MSc in Health Services Research and Technology Assessment at The University of Sheffield and a BSc(Honours) in Statistics at the University of Zimbabwe.

Having travelled, educated and worked in three different continents over the past two and a half decades, I know first hand some of the challenges migrant workers face. This lived experience and my work at the Monash Centre for Occupation and Environmental Health (MonCOEH) has shaped my research work and interests which focus on improving occupational health outcomes for migrant workers and the general CALD community. My additional interests are in increasing research participation of minority populations (e.g. CALD populations) as well as provide more evidence to support improved consideration of ethnicity in provision of medical services (including therapeutics, precision medicine, therapies).

My biostatistics and research methodology expertise spans over two decades in various research programs, within Australia, United Kingdom and Zimbawe, and I additionally collaborate with other international researchers around the world. I have experience working within clinical research, public health and epidemiology across different medical areas such as occupational health, psychiatry, general medicine, cardiovascular health, peadiatrics, endocrinology, respiratory health, e.t.c.
