Biography

Dr Sophie Lea is an academic, adolescent and family counsellor, teacher, education wellness consultant and clinical supervisor.

She currently lectures in the Master of Counselling at Monash University. Her research fields are in youth counselling, healthcare design, trauma-informed therapy and education programs, school wellbeing team development and building resilience in educational settings.

Dr Lea is also a co-founder and director of Kind Schools, a not-for-profit focused on bullying prevention, launching in 2022 and an advisory board member for Resilient Youth Australia.

She is passionate about contributing to young people's psychological wellness through implementing evidence-based, practical and supportive approaches that develop awareness and self-actualisation.
