Biography

Dr Siti Harnida is Senior Lecturer in Medicine at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia since 2006. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine degree from Southampton University in 1996 and MRCP in 2000. She returned to Malaysia and joined the National University of Malaysia as Lecturer in General Medicine and Endocrinology. In 2006, she set up a private practice based in Assunta Hospital in Petaling Jaya. She joined Monash University as a fractional staff and she will be involved in clinical teaching in the Bandar Sunway campus. She is also one of the Year 1 committee members, mainly involved in the implementation of the Theme 4 component of the curriculum. She managed to spend three weeks in Monash Victoria campus to meet the staff members and learn about the curriculum. Her research interests are primarily in diabetes and obesity. She has initiated and completed a single-centre clinical research in Type 2 diabetes and inflammatory markers and a multi-centre clinical research in obesity.
