Simon G. Royce obtained his bachelors and PhD (Pathology) qualifications at The University of Melbourne. He subsequently was recruited to the Murdoch Childrenand#39;s Research Institute, Royal Childrenand#39;s Hospital, and began research on asthma, allergy and immune disorders. In 2012 he joined the Department of Pharmacology, Monash University where he is a member of the Fibrosis Laboratory and the Respiratory Pharmacology Laboratory, headed by his long term collaborators Associate Professor Chrishan S. Samuel and Dr Jane E. Bourke respectively.

In addition to early and ongoing work in gastrointestinal pathology and cancer, Simonand#39;s main interest is in respiratory research, in particular chronic inflammatory lung diseases and airway remodelling. He has published over 50 peer reviewed publications in these areas with a high proportion of first and senior authorships. He brings to the department expertise in animal models of disease, histopathological and functional techniques.

Simon contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate training via the Department of Pathology, University of Melbourne and the Department of Pharmacology, Monash University. He is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Melbourne as well as MCRI (Allergy and Immunology) and BakerIDI, is an affiliate of the Lung Health Research Centre and President (SCR) Queenand#39;s College, Melbourne.
