Biography

Dr. Ting Fung Fung is a lecturer at School of Information Technology (SoIT), Monash University . She was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Engineering in year 2020. Her recent research work had received the 2020 WSIS (World Summit of the Information Society) Prize in Switzerland as a champion project. Her dissertation for the Master in Engineering Science degree titled “Visualisation for Brain Early Infarct Detection” was awarded the Best Thesis Award for Master degree study in 2017. She has published her work in many journals and conference proceedings. One of the research studies that stands out is her publication in Expert Systems with Application, titled “Convolutional Neural Network Improvement for Breast Cancer”, where she conducted in-depth research on automated classification and segmentation of breast cancer lesion through deep learning. Her primary research interests are in deep learning, expert system, biomedical engineering and image processing.
