Biography
Dr Sharinne Crawford is a Senior Research Fellow in the SPHERE Centre for Research Excellence, Department of General Practice at Monash University. She is the Project Manager of the Australian Government-funded Endometriosis Management Plan (Endo-MP) project, leading a team of researchers to develop and implement an endometriosis management plan to improve endometriosis and pelvic pain diagnosis and management in general practice.
Sharinne is a mixed methods public health researcher with expertise in qualitative research. She is passionate about improving healthcare for women, particularly women with endometriosis, and giving priority to women’s voices regarding their experiences. Sharinne completed her PhD at Deakin University in the field of children’s independent mobility and physical activity. Since 2011, her research has focused on women’s, children’s and family health, social media and ethics in public health. She is an experienced supervisor of graduate research students and has worked as a sessional tutor at a number of universities. She provides mentorship and support to academic colleagues across a number of institutions. In addition to her work at Monash University, Sharinne also holds a position as a Research Fellow in the Judith Lumley Centre for women, children and family health research at La Trobe University.
